I was incredibly impressed by how clean the restaurant looked despite being packed with customers. Sam was incredibly kind and humorous and really facilitated the spirit of Woodstocks as a customer service representative. Food arrived timely and with a great smile. All pizzas ordered were spectacular. The sauce was perfect. The cheese was perfect. The crust was perfect. The toppings were marvelous. The pizza truly shined. I loved Woodstocks - it was a new amazing experience. The pizza and staff at this location were fantastic and personable and gave both the taste and feeling of Davis. - Davis Customer

I ordered the 14” gluten-free pizza with ½ cheese and the other half, Hawaiian topping. I shared it with two co-workers here. We all agreed that the pizza and crust are extremely delicious. My friends are not gluten intolerant as I am. I am totally sold on the crust as I am prohibited from eating wheat products. Now, I have this pizza and I sorely missed pizza. So it's not often that I give a pizza place 5 stars, but the staff here gives me just the push I need to bump the place from 4 stars to 5. Tobey, Casey, and Justin hold the bar down on busy nights, and Matt probably knows more about beer (particularly local brews) than I do, and that doesn't happen too often. They recognize me as a regular and make sure my pizza and beer come out just right, but still have the presence of mind to check my friends' ID's quickly and inconspicuously when they come out with me... Sometimes an inconvenience, but a very important part of running an alcohol-service business. The pizzas are well put together, but not extremely imaginative. Woodstocks will, however, put any toppings that you bring in yourself on your pizza for free... so if you're disappointed with the selection of toppings it's really your own fault. Prices are good, ranging from $2.50 for a slice to the low $20 range for a large custom pie. Finally, the atmosphere of Woodstocks is a lot more balanced than the other alternatives in the area. There are 4 dining areas, as well as an upper level, and the music and chatter are rarely too loud to hear your party's conversation. The bar area is fairly small, but the TV's are well-placed and the staff navigates the tight space well. Being a beer and wine bar, there are fewer overserved undergraduates here than you'll find at most places. They'll also hook your designated driver up with a free soda, and they've always seemed to gracefully manage the "slight service issues" that arise from allowing the under-21 crowd into a college bar. All without having "security staff" floating around with inflated egos. The bar hosts your standard trivia and karaoke nights like every other bar in Davis, as well as a pint night on Tuesdays that gives you a pretty decent discount on your drafts. Overall, a solid pizza and beer place, and about the only place in town where you can get consistently good, unpretentious service. - Brandon M
